Our 3M™ Cubitron© II products have raised the bar for high-performing abrasives. 3M Precision Shaped Grain outcuts and outlasts conventional ceramic industrial abrasives and requires less grinding force to achieve superior performance. The result is that operators can grind faster and complete more parts per disc with less muscle-work and fatigue.
To create 3M Precision Shaped Grain, our engineers started with 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain and used proprietary technology to form the grains into triangular structures and electrostatically orient them on the backing to form sharp peaks that maximize cutting potential. These peaks slice cleanly through metal, rather than gouging or plowing as traditional abrasives do, and continuously self-sharpen as the points break off. This generates a super-fast cut and lessens heat build-up due to friction, reducing heat-related stress cracks and discoloration.
3M Precision Shaped Grain also wears evenly, and because the abrasive itself stays cooler and sharper, 3M™ Cubitron© II products last significantly longer than their conventional ceramic counterparts, ensuring extended high performance in production applications.

Pferd mounted flap wheels are supplied with the standard shank length of 1-1/2”. The coated abrasive flaps are arranged radially around the axis of the flap wheel in a fan-type configurations. Due to their flexibility, they adapt ideally to the contours of the workpiece. The abrasive grit is embedded in a resinoid bond on the strong, flexible backing cloth. Mounted flap wheels achieve their best performance at a recommended cutting speed of 3,000 – 4,000 SFPM. This provides the ideal compromise between stock removal, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece, and wear to the flap wheel.

Polivlies belts are designed for buffing, blending, cleaning, light deburring, finishing and polishing on all metals. They are particularly well suited for use on stainless steel and aluminum. These heavy-duty non-woven surface conditioning belts are manufactured with aluminum oxide impregnated fiber mesh on a tough web backing. The grain is evenly dispersed on the material, resulting in a smooth, uniform finish. The open structure resists loading and can be used wet or dry. The synthetic material will not rust or corrode. Its life can be increased by washing after use.
