J.W. Harris Stay Silv 15 1/8″ 28 Stick Tube
J.W. Harris Stay Silv 15 1/8″ 28 Stick Tube
The Harris Stay-Silv 15 PhosCopper Brazing Alloy is the industry standard for air conditioning and refrigeration applications. Still widely used, but now often replaced by Dynaflow® in many HVAC/R applications. For many years the standard of the industry, the 15% silver alloy has proven its value. This filler metal is excellent for situations in which close fit-up does not exist, and where thermal expansion and service vibration are involved.

J.W. Harris Blockade 2mm x 20 Stick Tube
J.W. Harris Blockade 2mm x 20 Stick Tube
The Harris Blockage Phosphorus Tin Silicon Brazing Alloy is a proprietary phosphorus-tin-silicon alloy engineered as an inexpensive alternative to copper-copper and copper-brass alloys. It is self-fluxing on copper and its lower melting temperature makes it an excellent choice for brass connections. BLOCKADE flows rapidly but can be used to “cap” brazed joints.
Blockade’s® unique silicon addition offers significant advantages over phos/copper and silver/phos/copper, (BCuP), brazing alloys. Among the benefits are: bright alloy color during cooling that allows visual verification of a good braze joint, improved ductility over BCuP-2 alloy, reduced brazing temperature, and reduced material costs. It is often used with Stay-Silv® white brazing flux as a replacement for high silver alloys when brazing brass.

J.W. Harris Stay Brite 1/16″ X 1# Spool
J.W. Harris Stay Brite 1/16″ X 1# Spool
The important advantage of Stay-Brite® solders is the greater strength of the overall component. After joining, its lower working temperature eliminates the weakening of the base metals caused by annealment from high brazing heat. The result is a stronger, more economical joint.
Stay-Brite® silver bearing solders have the same excellent affinity as SafetySilv® alloys for bonding with most of the ferrous and nonferrous alloys (including stainless steel, nickel, copper, brass, etc.) It provides a considerably higher than necessary elongation for sound dissimilar metal joints and vibration applications.
Stay-Brite® alloys range in temperature from 430°F to 535°F. Stay-Brite® solder eliminates oxide scale formed from brazing heat. No nitrogen purge is required for HVAC/R tubes. They are cadmium free and nontoxic. Stay-Brite® is a eutectic alloy with a single melting point of 430°F (221°C).

J.W. Harris AlSolder 500 Aluminum Solder Kit
J.W. Harris AlSolder 500 Aluminum Solder Kit
The Harris Al-Solder 500 aluminum solder & flux kit for torch or iron is used all solder-able alloys to each other and to dissimilar metals. Also for zinc die-cast. Forms excellent, corrosion resistant joints on the tough to solder aluminum alloys. Also beneficial as a high temperature solder on most other metals. Not recommended for magnesium.
Forms excellent corrosion resistant joints on the tough-to-solder aluminum alloys. Joins all solder-able aluminum alloys to each other and to dissimilar metals, both ferrous and nonferrous. Also beneficial as a high temperature solder on most other metals.
Procedure:
- Clean the area to be soldered
- Apply Stay Clean aluminum flux
- If using an open flame, heat indirectly with the torch in motion (do not direct the torch on the flux)
- Heat until the flux becomes a nut brown color
- Apply the alloy
- Discontinue heat as soon as flow
- Allow to cool. Remove flux residue with wire brush and hot water
Features:
· Tensile strength – Up to 20,000 PSI
· Solidus – 391ºF
· Liquidus – 482ºF
· Good color match on aluminum and zinc die cast

J.W. Harris Low Fuming Bronze 15 Bare Copper Alloy Gas Rod 3/32″ X 36″ 10# PKG
J.W. Harris Low Fuming Bronze 15 Bare Copper Alloy Gas Rod 3/32″ X 36″ 10# PKG
The Harris 15 Low Fuming Brazing Bronze is copper- zinc braze rod developed primarily to braze steel and some cast iron grades including malleable and grey iron. It can be used to join copper but due to the elevated melting temperature care must be taken during brazing to avoid overheating or melting the copper. It is used with the oxy-fuel process.
Harris 15 is considered a “braze-welding”
J. W. Harris Stay-Silv 5 Medium-Silver PhosCopper Brazing Alloy 1/8″ X 20″
J. W. Harris Stay-Silv 5 Medium-Silver PhosCopper Brazing Alloy 1/8″ X 20″
The Harris Stay-Silv 5 medium-silver PhosCopper brazing alloy is designed for copper to copper applications. It can also be used on copper to low zinc brass but this application requires use of Stay Silv white brazing flux.
Like many phosphorus/copper brazing filler metals Stay Silv 5 will flow rapidly when heated quickly to its liquidus. This allows penetration into tight clearance connections. With slower heating the alloy melting range provides the ability to filler wider gaps.
Stay Silv 5 is often chosen as an economical alternative to higher silver content alloys for copper and brass applications.
Stay Silv 5 is not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous base metals. In these applications the phosphorus content promote

J.W. Harris 50/50 Solder 1/8″ 1# Spool
J.W. Harris 50/50 Solder 1/8″ 1# Spool
The Harris 50/50 common lead-bearing solder With some exceptions, can be used to join copper and most copper alloys, lead, nickel alloys and steel. Tin-lead solders are not recommended for joints subject to high stress or vibration in the cooling industry due to lack of sufficient elongation properties. These solders are also available with rosin or acid core. Note: It is illegal to use lead solders in both public and private potable water systems.
CAUTION: Lead-bearing solders are not to be used in potable water systems.
Typical Application: A tin-lead alloy with a wide melting range. Used for automotive, radiator, general purpose soldering, electrical applications.
